Google Drive: Create a New Folder & Doc

I’ve been experimenting with creating instructional GIF videos. I’m using a free webtool, and obviously, the resolution is not great. The one below shows how to create a new folder and doc in Google Drive.

  1. Go to Google Drive (make sure you are logged in to your account.
  2. Click on the red New button in the top-left.
  3. Select Folder and name your folder.
  4. Double-click to open your folder.
  5. If you want to create a new document in this folder, click on New again. Select Google Docs.
  6. Name your document by clicking where it says Untitled Document in the top-left. Start typing away!

  1. Looks cool; but hard to follow without audio or narrative text? Did you have issues with the file size if your Gif resolution was bigger?

    1. Using a free webtool and did not have a choice on size of GIF. I could make it bigger in WordPress, but resolution was awful. The idea is that there would be text to accompany the GIF and you wouldn’t have to click on play like you would with a video. It just keeps looping. I’ll add text to this post. Thanks for the feedback Luke!

  2. animated GIFs tend to be really large files and use a compression that makes small text hard to read. Maybe consider using something like an embedded video? Vine videos that are embedded automatically loop and youtube videos can be “hacked” to do so…
