Find/Make/Share: Using Your iPad to Teach Part 1 & Part 2
Friday, Oct. 12, 2012
2828 SW Corbett Ave. STE 140 B
Portland, OR 97201

$299 for both sessions or $199 for one.

Follow the link below to register.

The class is broken up into two parts. The first part is a good iPad starter course for teachers, and the second goes deeper into instructional and presentation tools. These can be taken separately or together. Taking them together makes them eligible for credit from Willamette University. While the combined class is only 6 hours of instruction (with an additional hour for lunch) it will actually provide 15 PDUs, because Willamette University is awarding 0.5 CEUs for each teacher. **Teachers must take parts I and II together to get the 0.5 CEU.

If you are planning a class project, and need an “expert” volunteer – I’d like to invite you to post your project on the new Virtual Volunteer area at Digital Wish. Digital Wish connects classroom teachers with “expert” volunteers by video conference. This is another great free service we provide our members! Just login and post your project here: www.digitalwish.com/dw/digitalwish/volunteers

  • Teachers will post a class project that needs a volunteer expert, by video conference.
  • Executive Volunteers will post a profile that outlines their unique expertise.
  • A robust search engine matches them together.
  • We’ll keep you updated with profiles of newly posted expert volunteers.

Over the next month, we’ll be inviting the employees of large corporations, entrepreneur networks, and many scientific associations to have their members volunteer to help you with your projects. So please post your projects and our staff will be out there recruiting volunteers!

GetEdFunding
http://www.getedfunding.com/

The mission of this site is to help educators and institutions uncover the funds they need to supplement shoestring budgets, expand innovative programs, prepare students for the increasingly complex skills they’ll need to participate in tomorrow’s workforce and help close the equity gap in educating students from all backgrounds and circumstances.

GetEdFunding is a curated collection of more than 600 active grants and awards that will grow by the day, all selected through the prism of relevance to today’s educational institutions. Although thousands of generous corporate contributors, foundations and other organizations recognize the need to support education, not all of them are included in this resource. In an effort to save educators time and frustration, a minimum requirement of inclusion in the collection is the willingness to accept Letters of Inquiry and unsolicited applications.
