Innovation Academy, May 18

Innovation Academy Open to everyone!
Please invite anyone you think might be interested! No experience necessary!
Saturday, May 18, 2-5pm
Franklin High School, 5405 SE Woodward St, Portland, OR

The Innovation Academy is bringing together students, teachers, and working professionals from the Northwest’s technology industries to empower students with new skills sets of the digital age.

Teams will work collaboratively to build software applications and other technology-based solutions that solve real world problems that exist within our community. The solutions that will emerge from these teams will be known as “Innovation for the Common Good.” All students, teachers, technology industry professionals and passionate individuals are welcome to participate in the launch event. Once teams have been formed and projects are begun, their solutions will be demonstrated in a large community celebration when the school year resumes next fall.

We will be using a fun, fast moving format to identify projects that we will be collaborating on with students over the summer. We will be modeling project based learning for the kids to open the door to opportunities in the tech world. As you know, many of them have never had the opportunity to work on community projects with industry professionals – it promises to be a very cool experience for all

Please consider joining us for this exciting event, either as a volunteer or as an attendee. Also, please invite any students who you think might be interested in attending.  If you want to attend, click here to register:  Interested in volunteering for the event?
